| Travey cooked breakfast both days. #besthusbandever |
By Sunday evening I started to feel a little better and I actually slept all night, I think I was just exhausted. On Monday, I went to work, but had an appointment in Burlington to get my lungs drained AGAIN. My breathing was as labored as it has gotten so maybe they are not filling as fast as they were, I've only had one chemo treatment, is it working that fast?? So Monday it started snowing, and snowing and snowing. I left work early, and met my mom at her house and the roads were started to get slippery. We drove to Burlington, were late to my appointment because traffic was moving slowly. When I got there they told me I'd have to wait or come back the next day, I agreed to wait as I didn't want to take more time off from work. They gave me a beeper and said they'd beep me when they were ready for me. I've been in IR 5 times already this month, to get my lungs drained, port put in, port checked etc.. I know all of the nurses and doctors, PAs, etc.. One doctor stopped me in the hall asking about my port. So while I waited, I went upstairs and saw my friend Erica who was having her final chemo treatment. Yay Erica!! My beeper went off and I headed back downstairs, I waited for about 30 minutes until someone came and got me. The process seemed to be slower than usual, the doctor had a student with him and was explaining everything to him. I tried really, really hard to be patient.
I finished and called Mom, she was on her way to meet me as she had been setting up at the farm show. She works for Vermont Prime Emu they have amazing products, I love the lotions, lip balms and emu oil. Hey runners the emu oil works amazing on road rash, I've needed it several times and it really lessens the scarring.
Anyway we headed home, it wasn't snowing as bad and the road was pretty clear. I went to my oncologist's office for a blood test. My amazing nurse Wendy was determined to get blood return from my port, which no one had been able to do yet.

After practically standing on my head and pushing my chest out blood came!! We headed home, by this time the roads were super crappy and I still had to drive back to my house from my moms. I made it home, and was happy to be there. We ate a quick dinner, and I headed to bed hoping and wishing for a snow day....
Yuk, what a rough way to start the week. Hope the rest of the week has been better for you!
