On this last day of 2012

It's New Year's Eve day and as I sit here in my pajamas drinking my coffee wondering what the heck happened this past year, I thought I share with you.  We'll start with running.  I had a goal of running 1000 miles this year, and I ran 681.  There's always 2013 :) I believe it's more than I ran in 2011.
I ran at least a race every month from January to December for a total of 17 races.

4 Half marathons
Run Vermont's Unplugged recap
Middlebury Maple Half recap
Rock N Roll Providence recap
Zooma Cape Cod recap

3 10ks
Race Vermont Spring Fling 10k
Race Vermont June 10k
Art Tudhope 10k

1 4 miler
Polar Cap 4 mile run

1 11k
Vermont Remembers 11k

1 4.2 Miler
Turkey Trot

6 5k's

First Run 5k
TJM Run for Lung Cancer
Shoreham Apple Blossom Derby 5k
Race for Sundae's 5k
Bristol's July 4th Race
Vergennes Day 5k
Santa Run 5k

I raced in 4 states Vemont, New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  My favorite half was Providence, it was so fun, I believe Unplugged Half was my best time.  This year was the first year I ran a 10k, weird I know.  I PRed in the first one, and was only seconds slower in the 2nd one (they were on the same course), the 3rd 10k was the one where I finished last..... I loved the 11k, it was a cool course and so run running with Army people with their rutsacks.  The turkey trot was cold, but it was a run race, after running up hill to start, at least it ended downhill.  I don't really have a favorite 5k, Shoreham Apple Blossom is super hard and mostly up hill, I like Vergennes it's a route I run a lot, Bristol was HOT!! The Santa run is run, I was a hot mess at the end.
That's my summary of running for the year. I'm registered for 2 half marathons, a 10 miler (auto PR) and a 5k for 2013 so far..

In January, I started a new full time job at the Group Home.  I work with great kiddos and coworkers.  It was a year of great opportunities.
In February , I started training for half marathon # 1 and 2 of the year.
In March, I turned 36 (Yikes), enjoyed unseasonably warm weather for march and great running weather.
In April I ran a half, trained some more.
In May I ran another half and kept running. I went camping for the weekend and swam jumped in Lake George earliest ever.  I also got a new nephew Peyton Felix.
In June, I joined Dragonheart Vermont and began Dragonboating, went to Maine camping for work. Camped with the family for Father's Day weekend.
In July I went camping for the week, did lots of yoga, ran some more you know.
In August I went to RI for Rock N Roll with Travey, Elizabeth and Corey, had an awesome time, participated in the Dragon Boat Festival, harvested our out of control garden.
In September we said goodbye to Mokeylove (I tear up just thinking about it).  I traveled to Cape Cod with Becky and Pam to run Zooma half marathon.
In October we welcomed Chloe Stuart into our home and hearts, Travey and I celebrated 5 years of marriage, Team Tutus for Tatas walked in Rutland County's first ever Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, most of my bestest friends were there, coming from surrounding states to walk.  It was amazing!
In November, I started a new job 2 days a week as a SAP counselor in a middle school, I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends (Friend Thanksgiving) with family (on Thanksgiving) and at work (GH Thanksgiving).
In December, I got this sickness that won't go away, had a wonderful Christmas, worked a 58 hour week, ran the smallest number of miles ever 12.5, and gave my notice at the group home.  I got another 3 day a week (2 days + 3 days = 5 days =full time = no nights or weekends = big changes.

Thanks for keeping up, I'll do another post of my favorite pictures of 2012!

  1. Feel better. Get rid of the sickness that won't go away.
You did a lot and we did a lot of the same races. Are you doing the Polar 4 miler again? I think I am. I am going to try to do Unplugged but I don't want the second wave time. Jealous you are doing Cherry Blossom! Ten Milers rock. I did NO 10Ks this year and not many 5Ks. I am trying to think what my favorite half was last year. Oh yeah, VCM relay with my kids no contest. That was the best race ever.
